Janelle Washington is a paper-cut and silhouette artist from Richmond, VA. Janelle is an extremely active and successful artist who has worked with CAC before, and we have been incredibly excited about the possibility of a solo exhibition with her for some time now.

Janelle has commissioned silhouettes housed at The Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History, her work has been shown in Oprah Magazine, and she has been the recipient of multiple awards for illustration, design, and more. Her work is so intricate, beautiful, and relevant to today’s world, Chesapeake Arts Center is lucky to have a chance to work with her.
