Education is a central component of CAC’s mission as we strive to make a positive impact on our community in a creative way.
Our community outreach programs allow families with limited resources to enroll in arts education classes, workshops, and after-school programs. These programs provide a safe, positive learning environment for children to express themselves, build positive self-esteem, and learn new skills.
"Chesapeake after-school programs are valuable outlets for our children...the nurturing environment quickly warmed hearts and gave my child and I a chance to embrace diversity, the arts and life in general.”
- After-School Parent
Our free after-school and weekend workshops served nearly 1,500 students from local schools and mentorship programs. Students created murals, painted self-portraits, built cutting boards in our MakerSpace, learned to sew costumes, created hand-built sculptures and so much more. Our outreach continues to grow through generous funding provided by Arundel Community Development Services, Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, National Education Association (NEA), private donations and the partnership with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
