Weather-Related Closing Information
Chesapeake Arts Center follows the Anne Arundel County Public Schools emergency closings protocols. For the safety of our staff, students and parents, classes or events are cancelled when AACPS closes due to inclement weather. For the most current information about closings go to the AACPS website www.aacps.org (where the latest news will be posted at the top of the screen) or call the snow phone at 410-222-5110 or 1-800-893-7080. When possible, CAC will post info regarding cancellations on the CAC website and Facebook page.
DIRECTIONS TO THE CAC
The Chesapeake Arts Center is located in Anne Arundel County, just outside the Baltimore City limits. We are situated near the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) and Ritchie Highway ( rte.2).
As you enter the parking lot from the Hammonds Lane, you will pass the main entrance to the theatre on your left. Continue to the end of the lot and follow it around to the left as far as you can. The last entrance at the very end of the parking lot is the education wing, where classrooms, offices, the studio theatre and artist studios are located.
FROM BALTIMORE & INNER HARBOR
Take Light Street south past Pratt Street and the Cross Street Market
Turn right onto Fort Avenue
Turn left onto Hanover street " Cross the Hanover Street Bridge
Continue as road curves to the right passing Harbor Hospital on your left Hanover Street will become Ritchie Highway
Turn right onto Hammonds Lane
CAC is about 100 yards on the right-hand side
FROM NORTH OF BALTIMORE
I-95 south to I-695 East towards Glen Burnie
Take exit 3A Ritchie Highway / Route 2 / Brooklyn
Circle on the off-ramp all the way around to the right to a light
Turn right onto Ritchie Highway / Route 2 North
At the 2nd traffic light turn left onto Hammonds Lane ( at the Rite Aid)
CAC is about 100 yards on the right-hand side
FROM DC AREA & SOUTH
Either I-95 north or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway 295 north
Take the exit for the Baltimore Beltway I-695 east towards Glen Burnie
Take exit 3A Ritchie Highway / Route 2 / Brooklyn
Circle on the off-ramp all the way around to the right to a light
Turn right onto Ritchie Highway/ Route 2 North
At the 2nd traffic light turn left onto Hammonds Lane ( at the Rite Aid)
CAC is about 100 yards on the right-hand side
FROM ANNAPOLIS AREA & SOUTH
I-97 north until it ends
Take exit for the Baltimore Beltway I-695 east towards Dundalk
Take exit 3A Ritchie Highway / Route 2 / Brooklyn
Circle on the off-ramp all the way around to the right to a light
Turn right onto Ritchie Highway / Route 2 North
At the 2nd traffic light turn left onto Hammonds Lane ( at the Rite Aid)
CAC is about 100 yards on the right-hand side
