Mark Supik,
Owner of Mark Supik & Co.
Mark Supik is a graduate of the Maryland Institute’s sculpture program, and has been a professional woodturner since 1981. In his Highlandtown shop, Mark and his staff use industrial lathes, some from the turn of the last century, to produce decorative architectural pieces, custom turnings for furniture makers, and wooden tap handles for regional microbreweries. Mark’s own art projects, currently presented in local galleries, included turned bowls from felled trees and stacked spindle sculptures. On the weekends, Mark’s shop becomes a woodturning school, where he teaches classes in introductory woodturning as well as bowl turning.
