Sydney Finch, Education Coordinator
Sydney Finch is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores gendered performance, labor, and healing from a non-binary perspective. Grounded in a hands-on practice of sewing, she also uses installation and the body to discover and manipulate the infrastructures that shape consciousness. Outside of her professional practice, she enjoys interior design, cooking, traveling, antiquing, slacklining, playing pinball, and spending time with her partner and their dog.
Sydney was born in Rochester NY, and was raised on the island of Palawan in the Philippines, and lived in the US states of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, and Virginia before settling in Baltimore Maryland.
She holds an MFA in Painting + Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA in Painting from University of Central Florida. She was a Professional Fellow with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for 2020-2021.
