Alberto Segarra

Mr. Segarra is a performing arts lighting designer based in Maryland. He holds a BA in Theater Education from the University of Puerto Rico (2001) and a MFA in Lighting Design from UMD College Park (2015). Mr. Segarra has worked as an Assistant Technical Director in the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré, San Juan PR, as a Technical Director for Ballets de San Juan, a Technical Director and Resident Lighting Designer for Andanza Compañía de Danza Contemporánea. Washington DC credits include: An Act of God (Signature Theatre); Vicuña and Satchmo at The Waldorf (Mosaic Theatre); Macbeth and Lucia di Lammermoor (Catholic University); Yo también hablo de la rosa (GALA Theatre); Twist Your Dickens (Kennedy Center); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Howard University); Strong in the Broken Place (Dance Place); Independence Eve (Urban Arias); 110 in the Shade and Jefferson’s Garden (Fords Theatre). Regional theatre credits include; The Gift Horse (New Rep Theatre, MA); Priscilla the Queen of Desert (Blue Barn Theatre, NE); The Taming of the Shrew, The Magic Flute, Carmen, Hair, Cabaret, Boeing Boeing, Evita, Dangerous Liaisons, The Glass Menagerie, and Romeo and Juliet.
